Uterine Transplant- Perspectives of Malaysian women with absolute uterine factor infertility: A questionnaire-based study

Study objectiveUterine transplantation gives women with absolute uterine factor infertility an opportunity to conceive their biological children. To date, there are more than 15 centers worldwide offering this surgical innovation. In Malaysia, as Islamic country, surrogacy is prohibited. A small study has demonstrated that Malaysian welcome the idea of transplant. However, many were unaware risk and complications transplant (1)DesignWe conducted a questionnaire-based describe level awareness, attitudes perceptions regarding uterus among in Malaysia. The ethical approval was provided by Research Ethics Committee, National University Malaysia.A questionnaire consisting 6 questions adapted from Pittman et al (2020) (2) distributed live online during patients-closed-group webinar entitled “Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH) Webinar”. consists series lectures on various topics relevant MRKH. Only diagnosed Mullerian agenesis or MRKH syndrome invited attend webinar. questionnaires at end lecture titled ‘Uterine Transplantation. briefly describes procedure, cost, its related birth success rate.
